School Closed 20.3.20

20th March 2020

Good morning everyone. You will all know by now the extremely sad news that from this Friday schools will be closing for the foreseeable future.

From Monday, staff are prepared and planned for remote learning with your children. Home learning packs have been sent home or are ready to be collected to supplement this learning. Teachers and TAs will be available to support this learning through Class Dojo. Children not in school will be expected to try to complete expected learning daily during term time.

In line with government expectations, we will be offering supervision and child care in school for some key workers’ children. At present we are still awaiting the government decision on this list and will update you as soon as we know. In order to support us in preparing for Monday, we need to have confirmation of numbers for this by 10am Friday 20th (tomorrow morning).

If both parents at home are key workers, or, if they are within a single parent family and their sole parent/carer is a key worker from the government key worker list and want to take up the child care offer to cover the shifts you work during the school week, please could you privately message me on Dojo with the details of this and the days/hours you would need your child supervised for next week.

Children will be supervised in school by available staff between 8.45 and 3.15. We are unsure yet about what we can offer in the Easter holiday but will confirm this asap.

Eaxmple list of Key Workers expected to be on the list are:

Delivery drivers - e.g. Supermarkets, Pharmacies, Fuel company drivers.
Police
Fire service
Nurses
Doctors
Patramedics
Carers e.g. old peoples home, hospices etc
Social workers
Teachers or other school workers

If your child falls into the Vulnerable group - eg has an EHCP or has a named social worker - please also let me know if you will want your child to be looked after next week.

I hope you understand that this is a challenging time and we will do our best to support all our families through this.
