Go Cornish!

We are so excited that we are now part of the Go Cornish Project which means that we are learning the Cornish language as our MFL.

We have started this term and have had some exciting lessons so far already.

We are proud to display the Go Cornish Badge!

Earners of this badge have worked towards the bronze Go Cornish for Primary Schools badge. They have committed to increase awareness, enjoyment, and engagement with the Cornish language inside and outside of the classroom, across the school community. Go Cornish was launched in 2021 and gives young people the opportunity to embrace their own sense of Cornishness and discover the culturally rich heritage of our amazing patch of the planet.

As part of our developing Cornish Cultural understanding, we have our own special group of pupils to drive the project:

Go Cornish!
Keslowena (Congratulations) to our Kryw Kernewek (Cornish Crew)!
These pupils have been selected due to their fantastic applications to help gather information, deliver and set up our Go Cornish scheme in school.
There were so many fantastic applications but the successful candidates gave reasons like:
'I want to keep the Cornish language alive',
'I want to help everyone achieve our goal' and
'Even if I'm not from Cornwall, we all have some Cornish in us and we can spread more of it'.
These passionate team members will meet the Go Cornish director Will Coleman and education officer Nia Roberts as they join us on Wednesday to help launch this special scheme. #GoCornish
